Shel,
That was only three chords? I thought it was great. Very well played and I thoroughly loved your vocals on this.
Way to go.

Busking 3 or 4 Chord Songs
Michele, I saw this very early this s'morning but had to go scooting off to work. This is the first I have had a chance to comment on your performance...GREAT, JOB! You pretty much wrote a tutorial on how to play this tune! And I'm with Dennis, I never would have guessed you'd pull out the Steve Miller.
I guess we'll give Suzi a thank you as well, for dropping the idea. (Really liked your singing on this!)
Great Job!! A very, very fine addition to this fine thread you devised!

Thanks everyone for being so supportive and encouraging, especially about my singing. You're a sweet bunch.
Ol' man MJ - it's the classic car singing song to be sure. I'm glad you liked it. With all the transposing and transcribing you've been doing you've just GOT to have a suitable 3 or 4 chord song for this thread. What's another favourite car song? I'd love to see and hear something from you. It's been too long.
Craig - I'm glad you liked it. I find passing notes tricky too. After seeing where you've gotten to on Classical Gas, I'm sure you'll get those passing notes down too. Thanks.
Tom - thanks. Hey we've been seeing some great editing work from you pulling together other people's performances, how about working on a three chord song of your own?
Willem - I'm very glad you liked it. And I'm even happier to hear that you're working on something to add to this thread. I'm looking forward to it. Thanks
Nessa - your words are like gifts from heaven.
Thank you, you're a sweet, sweet woman. I'm thrilled that you liked it and that I didn't SUCK.
yes a few sneaky smiles. There were many more in the bloopers and the tape that hit the cutting room floor. You're my number 1 performance role-model, so I'm trying to look at the camera more.
Bolden - thanks for watching. The thread has been fun. Planning on adding anything?
Den - space cowboy indeed, ... What you can't imagine me in a Firefly outfit?
- actually, that was one of the line that cracked me up. Well if you'd like, to send me a list of the three chord songs you would have expected me to play, I'll rectify the strange occurrence.
but, really, it was a good excuse to sing about peaches. I LOVE peaches.
so eating a sandwich, makes it a little hard to play guitar...perhaps with a harp holder. Well I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for being so encouraging. I'd LOVE to see an addition from you!
Bob - thanks mate, it's a fun song and yep three chords.
Cori - your a sweetie! Thanks so much. I like to keep you all guessing. I've got too many sad arse songs so I needed a fun one. Actually, my Sue is a big Steve Miller fan and country rock in general. It is a great song. Are you and Krista putting up anything else?
Thanks again everyone. I'm still thinking that we need more challengees. I'd love to see what your FAVOURITE three chord songs are.

You are so right.... I have a ton of songs that I have now transcribed and can play through at varying levels. I just can't carry a tune even if it is strapped to my back! :woohoo: :woohoo:
I have a bunch that I have made chord sheets and lyric sheets for.....
I have been toying with my Video and my Daw a little lately to try and get a better grip and truly do plan on trying to get something up. Especially for this thread. The whole strumming and having fun thing is what brought to playing guitar in the first place. After learning so much here, I got way off track with trying to run before I was able to walk.... Time to settle back in and get to strumming and singing.....
Don't give up on me.... B)

Wow.......talk about late to the party! Lots of fun videos here;
Daryl - clever stuff. Looks like a great way of drafting in some singing partners. May have to give that a go myself.
Cori and Krista - great to hear Krista sing again and a good bit of playing again by you, Cori.
Vanessa - ah, Elvis at last. It had to happen sooner or later. Great fun.
Michele - very impressive, the way you managed to keep a straight face through those lyrics! And showing some nice chops there, Michele, well played.
This thread may have me reaching for my harp............

Hey Dennis, that's a great idea ... a "munching" thread ! You go first ... if you're accepting requests, I dare you to do peanut butter on pumpernickel ! :side:dennisg wrote:

Michele, this performance is a real pleasure to view, you approach the tune with such a great attitude that it just shines right through here on the other side of the looking glass

Thanks guys.
Daryl - that's a big compliment, thank you!
little by little right? Another...
well you never know. B)
Stuart - thank you! yes, it was hard keeping a straight (so to speak) face.
I was smirking in many of the outtakes. The camera nerves overpowered the mischievous expressions so you ended up with mostly serious. please don't resist the urge to get your harp out. I'd love to hear it. That would be awesome! I'm wounding whether you're going to get your Johnny Cash persona out of the cupboard. Hmmmmm.... I wonder what you have in mind. I can't wait. Ccoooool! B)
Pierre - I'm so glad you liked it. Are you going to add anything?
Thanks so much guys. Consider adding your own videos.

Hi Michele, glad you liked the videos. I would love to be able to participate on this thread, I am ltching to do so, but since my bicep ligament rupture and subsequent operation seven weeks ago, I have hardly been able to lift my guitar never mind play it. I am about half way through my recovery, I have tried to play over the last few weeks, but I get to the point where the pain stops me. I am hoping within the next two months that I am back fully fit and I will be up for putting in a video. :cheer: Until then I will sit frustrated on the sidelines

This is a great thread by the way.
