Chris,
Between the downtuning, transpositions and capo, I did get a bit confused there. But I think you are saying we should play "as though" in the key of E, but with a capo on the first fret to sound in F.
If that's what you meant, it's what I'd first understood and it sounds good to me.

Yes That's right Stuart. I threw a few curve balls there, I know. Original is in G. Too high to sing so we are going down to F which is the same as capo on first fret and playing E D A Fm B Bm. The chord sheet I placed in the thread is showing that too.

Andy, yeah, I forgot God's work is never done! Let's hope TG's is!

I just realised I stuffed up in the second video. I thought I was playing in the same key as the first video but, of course, I was playing another half step down. So I was effectively in F. The original is in G and my first demo was in F# (guitar tuned down a half step playing in G). F is better for the voice and for the richer sound we can get by putting a capo on 1 and using the following chords: E D A F#m B Bm. Easy to play too. No one mentioned the mistake... so either you were not paying attention or know less about theory than I do. And that is not a lot! :) Please excuse. Anyway, I think we are a step further.
Well, I don't know if I can continue with this project now.... Such a serious mistake.....

Yeah, Izzy, I saw this comming. When I saw Chris was heading this up I immediatly withdrew any consideration of participating. It had nothing to do with my talent.... or ...uh, well, ok, with my talent...

Seriously, good luck to all you good friends and musicians!

Wow, things are rolling on fast. I just saw this at work yesterday and didn't have a lot of time last night and checked in again today. Looks like we've got a lot of talent lined up. Even some back up singing. I just listened to one of the posted EJ versions or our song and lots of OHHHHH and AHHHH in some of the background to fill in the vocal, are we going to be trying for a full background on vocals or just harmony on words?? Hope that makes sence. I'm sure you all will let me know what is coming next. Gary

Yeah Gary, we are not taking prisoners on this one! There are lots of ooohs and aaahs in there.... I hope we can get at least some in! We want to get our money's worth. :-)
Sent you a pm earlier.

Gary,
If we get enough singers, I plan on mixing a full chorus into the background.

Either way, I'll likely mix a couple of versions.
Clean
Light effects
Full Chorus
And a special mix for Chris where he is the star! LOL

In the meantime, I just got handed a few days off. Had a slip and fall in the bathroom last night and cracked a rib. Doc said no dancing for a week at least.

Chris,

I was gone most of the day and just got to this. I can't open up the file as it is asking for a user name and password. Also do you prefer that it be payed with a Capo or tuned down and open?

Got the file open. Nevermind. So that just leads to the capo vs tuned down and open.
