Shel,

That was SO MUCH FUN!!! I absolutely loved the intro you put in and loved the little bass runs, too. I'm also glad you find this song as fun as I do. I had a huge smile on my face while watching this- and I've already watched it twice! You made my day- thanks!!

Cori- For the record, that Hall and Oates song is way more than 4 chords. But you better watch out, boy, or I might just have to post it! hehe....

Suzi- Alright!! I can't wait! Sure others are psyched & feel the same way. :) Com'on Chew us up, lol
Looked at the chords on this song, and yep...way more than two or three. Interesting chord progression & a nice guitar
solo/break. There is some legitimate musicianship going on here,
underneath all that cheese...EDIT, Besides what cheesy 80s song would be complete without a cheesy saxophone solo!!

Stuart- (Reiver) Thanks, man! I appreciate it!

This is a fun thread to watch. I've been enjoying all the performances while monitoring from out here in the weeds. I'm glad to see the Iron and Wine song by Krista and Cori. They've been on my RADAR since first hearing them on KEXP in the mid 2000s. The "Naked . . . " song has been on my "Music to cook by" playlist for many years and it's good to see it surface here. Krista & Cori . . . you are a fun couple to watch play and sing. You need to do the open mic thing. If you don't, you're probably a little weird . . . . just kidding about the weird part, but serious about that open mic thing.

If you like Iron & Wine, check out this KEXP concert where they collaborate with Calexico.

Sweet...an Iron & Wine fan!

Well thank you kindly there Hydro! Double thanx actually...(cool link!)

Thank you for the nice things you said...and definitely you're right! We're weird alright! Whether we do an open mic or not, we're
still weird. No offense taken. lol!We would like to plan to start doing a few open mics this year. We just have really hectic
schedules...like everybody does. Thanks Again!!

Phew!!! :) I'm so glad you enjoyed it and made you smile; yeh!. I'd hate to screw up a much loved song of yours. It definitely is fun to play. Believe me, eventhough I still look serious I was having a fun time.

Woo Hoo!!

Thanks sweetie.

11:15 -- Got bright idea to come up with a song for the 3- or 4-chord busking thread.
11:20 -- Came up with two possibilities. Settled on the one I thought would require the least rehearsal time.
11:25 -- Downloaded lyrics to song.
11:30 -- Began rehearsing. Quickly realized I stink at this.
11:55 -- Decided that my performance didn't warrant microphones and other gear. Recorded directly into the camera's mic.
11:58 -- Played back first recording. Was instantly horrified.
12:17 -- Went to have lunch. Reconsidered my whole stupid plan. Decided I wasn't likely to get any better with more rehearsing.
1:30 -- With much trepidation, uploaded video of first take.

PLEASE NOTE: If video was recently uploaded it will not work yet. YouTube will need a little more time to get the video ready. Please check back again soon.

Dennis:

Your intro timeline had me LMAO......

That being said, I thought the song went very well. I really enjoy watching folks post stuff with the singing included. I am certainly not confident in that area. I can sing like a god in the car, while driving down the freeway, but turn on a recorder and the opposite happens and it comes out more like a dog....... :P

Great post!

This thread is turning out to be lots of fun!

AWHHhh!! Yes!!! That was really super-cool, Dennis!! I freaking loved it too!

Thanks so much for putting that up!! Loved all of it....nice(way up the neck) lead there Jimbo? or was it Scotty?

I enjoyed the run-down of the events leading up to your performance as well. Even though I don't necessarily agree withyour
modesty on this! You kicked a brown bear's ass! Great job!! loved it Elvis Aaron!

Great to see this thread back up and going as well...
