Daryl / Brad

Very nicely done. I like the way you're able to play all the parts.

Its a great version of a great classic song.... and Brad sings it so well. Nice guitar and bass work all round Daryl.
I could see you working over time to keep that smile off your face :) B) :P

Everyone should play this song at some time.

Daryl, it's always a treat to see how you can take a tune and be all over it, and yet stay so precise and cool as a cucumber :)

Great choice of Brad as your assistant !

Daryl,

You are one cooooool cookie. I LOVE it when the Plucking Phantom takes his mask off and reveals his mild mannered identity. I loved seeing your guitar faces in this. Fantastic.

That's one cooool McCartney bass you've got there. It sounds great and the simple bass line adds a lot of depth to the song.

Your guitar playing is nice and I noticed the couple of little frills you added. Sweet.

All in all, you've used your many talents to turn a simple song into a cool video. You've a great role model to show us how a simple campfire song can sound like so much more.

Smiles ... Well I know how hard it is to play AND smile on camera. Maybe we'll both manage it one day. I can do it when not on camera, but as soon as I press 'record' I get my camera guitar face one... Unfortunately mine is a grimace. So you're ahead of me there. :)

Great video, it sounds great and I found it even more enjoyable because I could see your sweet face. Thank you!

Shel

Nice playing Daryl, good technical video as well. I like your Sir Paul' s bass. Is it a new one (since you use to do the bass line on guitar before)? I have a better appreciation of the challenges of doing a multi track since I have been trying to do one for a while. The right sound, image sync, timing since each track is like playing with somebody else. Glad that you are taking a wider angle with your camera for a full view of the artist.

Good and entertaining work

Marc

Bob – Thanks. Multi-tracking is a lot of fun (once you get over the frustrating parts)!

Chris – I agree, Brad has a great voice for this song. And actually that was my smile. ;-)

Tom – Thank you. I’m still working on getting a better video sound quality. I guess it’s going to take some time.

Pierre - Love your comments! That’s me - “Mr. Cucumber”. And yes, I couldn’t have pulled this one off without Brad’s vocals.

Michele – I hope you’re happy. I do love my “McCartney bass”. It's very easy to play and it really does fill out a song. Thanks for all the very sweet/kind words. I’m blushing - but you can’t see me! Smiles…..that was me smiling…..ear to ear…..it doesn’t get any better than that.

Willem – Thank you! Glad to hear you gave the song a try. That’s the whole point of this thread!

Marc – Thank you! I like my bass too. It is new. I got it about a month ago. It's way better than using my six-string and DAW. I’d love to see your multi-tracking progress. Multi-tracking is difficult in many ways. Timing being super critical. My 1st attempts weren’t so good either. Start with something easy and just do two tracks.

Aaaaaaah Daryl, what a great addition to this thread! I so love this song, and yeah it should be in here. :cheer:

What can I say, well well done around, VERY much liked to see your face back again, the playing, and yeah Brad has a great voice, I really enjoyed listening to him!

Thanks Daryl, way to go!

Ness

(the reason why I would like to see your smile, or anybody elses for that matter???: 'If you smile at me, I will understand, cause that is something everybody everywhere does in the same language...', come on, it's obvious! :P , but no pressure though, I'm already really glad to see you again, instead of a headless guitarplayer, who could be ánybody if you think about it. :S, so thank you for that!! :))

Daryl,

I love all of your videos, mostly because they provide mini clinics on how to strum or finger pick with precision. Great job here, and I loved seeing that Hofner bass put to good use. Brad has a terrific voice.
