Hi Kevin,

The whole tone of this is very fine. You are a real performer, and I feel lucky to have the opportunity to watch this.

But hey, hey, my, my ... what's with the invisible whammy-bar at the end ? Seems to actually work ! Huh ? Whazzat ?

Pierre

Thanks for watching and the kind words. And as far as the ending. I have a real hard time when coming to the end of a song. I know its coming and always seem to mess it up at the very end. So years ago I just started adding a little something at the end of a song. Then sometimes I play it and some times I don't. But it seem to keep my focus past the ending of the song.

That's an interesting idea Kev. I often muck up the ending too, especially if the recording is going well. :) food for thought.

Here’s a really simple 4 chord song (D G A and Bm). Paul Thorn plays it in drop-D tuning. I did it in both standard tuning and dropped-D. I know some of you don’t like all the bells and whistles a DAW provides and would rather see a pure/live video performance, but for me I like to try and hide my flawed playing and singing (especially the singing). So in this song I’ve got 3 acoustic guitars, 1 bass guitar, 2 lead guitars, and 2 vocals (expanded to 4 by way of effects). But I just couldn’t bring myself to do all the PIP work for such a simple 4 chord song…..

capo on 2nd fret

A (D) long way from home while drinking a beer
A beautiful stranger whispered in my ear
Come up to (G) room 307 and don't tell a (D) soul
I’ve heard (A) forbidden fruit is (G) sweeter but I don't want to (D) know

She (D) asked me to dance she didn't see no harm
But if you dance with the devil she'll turn on her charm
These are some (G) dangerous circumstances I think I should (D) go
I'm tempted (A) wondering what it'd be like to (G) hold her but I don't want to (D) know

I don't want to (G) know what it's like to cross that line
(D) I don't ever want to see my baby cryin
I could (G) keep it a secret it would never show
But (Bm) what would it cost my (A) heart I don't want to (D) know

There's a (D) three room house six hundred miles away
With a fenced in yard where my children can play
And the (G) angel of my dreams god I love her (D) so
What I would (A) lose to abuse her (G) trust I don't want to (D) know

I don't want to (G) know what it's like to live a lie
Even (D) if she couldn't tell by looking in my eyes
I could (G) keep it a secret it would never show
But (Bm) what would it cost my (A) heart I don't want to (D) know

And here’s the original song if you don’t know it:

Great work Daryl! The whole shabang is good as always... including the vocals, no need to hide!

Kev, great work on that Neil Young song bro, sorry I missed it until now! Well sung too
