A question here...or maybe two

First, I have a Mac and my videos end up in MOV format, which the busking uploader won't accept. Does anyone know how to change the format? On my first try I just uploaded it to Youtube and posted the link.

So my second question is, how do I add a band if I'm not using the Busking Uploader?

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

Lynn

Hi Lynn,,when I go tothe busking uploader then I see also MOV format,,maybe it takes more time,,for my self I upload always AVI and I have an camera that makes MOV which I change in my editing program called AVS ,,I put the film in AVS and when I produce I choose AVI...but there are other ways with converting programs,,,but that I don't know..

How I add a band?? copy the url and past it where you want it..

Lynn,

I have a Mac, as do many TGers, and I upload .mov files often -- and never have a problem. If you have iMovie on your Mac, load the video into that, then select Share > Export Using Quicktime. That always works for me.

Regarding your second question, I'm not sure what you mean by adding a band without using the busking uploader. By "adding a band," do you mean uploding a video?

Hi Lynn,

Like Willem, I also use AVS software, but I don't think it supports the Apple world. I know that there are many others that use Apple products that post busking videos here on the forum, and you'll probably get an answer soon. Otherwise, you may want to try Googling - Mac video converter.

I think now what she means by adding a band and it is adding a band in the busking uploader which Daryl gave a answer in a other thread..

In the busking uploader you can choose from an existing band or make a new one by scrolling down in the menu and add a new name which you type in the other box...

Willem

Ps: maybe that gave the issue for not uplading the MOV file,,she did not use or choose a band!!!!???? or made one!!!

Lynn, I am no specialist, but most of my videos on the site are MOV files because of the type of camera I used. So the mov files are fine. It also have to be below 200Mb. When you upload it, it seems not to work as there is sign of anything going , besides the little text below that says : communicating with TG. It migth ta\ke 20 minutes to upload it. This is why you might think it is not taking your file. So if meets the file size limitation, just be patient , it will work.

Welcome to the site,

Marc

I don't know what busking is. Does it meaning figuring out how to cover a song?

Per google:

busk verb
gerund or present participle: busking

play music or otherwise perform for voluntary donations in the street or in subways.
"the group began by busking on Philadelphia sidewalks"
informal
improvise.

At TG the busking area is just a place to upload a video of yourself playing a song. It's just for the pleasure of the uploader and for all the viewers. Go for it. Making a video of yourself performing is a great way to improve your playing.
