I just loved Julia's cover of this song so I thought I'd play along with her (again). And yes I'm playing the bass with my 6-string acoustic through the magic of Audacity.

great video Daryl, and a very enjoyable song from Nat who I never thought we would see here. Jaaaaa is very dynamic and a great montage from you playing the 2 parts (great idea).

Thanks Marc. I wonder if the TG crowd isn't old enough to know Nat!

Unforgetable, that's what that was....
(Sorry, I been on real bad streak with cornball jokes & bad puns lately.)

Anyways, Daryl there are so many subtle nuances & things you do with your thump, and right hand that I really wish I could pull off. From the palm muting, to the percussive slaps, to the single note baseline/slaps with your thumb...it always melds seamlessly and suits the song so well. Also, you always find just the right amount i.e (without overplaying) to accompany each vocalist. Looks effortless & natural.

Pretty awesome stuff...

Daryl,
Very cool! I loved your idea on doing the song the way you did. It came out great! Nat King Cole was my Dad's absolute favorite, so I grew up listening to a lot of Nat as background music at the family dinners. Thanks for sharing and very well done!
