Hi Al,

After listening again I have a question,

At one point in the song (2.00) I can hear a high (female?)-voice in the harmonies, it that Helen as well? Or is it you?

I simply don't know what to say to be honest. It's such a professional production. How far have we come from the times when nobody showed their face?

Helen sang wonderfully and your playing Al was faultless from my perspective. I don't support the push to shift you into the background mate.....you're a damn good looking guy eh!

Seriously, magnificent.

I saw "Train Song", and thought to myself: "No Way"....... Al is doing some Blackfoot........ :woohoo:

Nope....... :(

What I discovered is, you two just introduced me to a very cool song that I had never heard before. Your voices go very well together, and your playing is damn solid Al! I love that you have been doing these videos together. Now you just need to get one up with your daughter singing as well. Make it a family affair.... B) B)

Anyway, you two deserve a big hand and some major pizza points.

Very nicely done. I look forward to the next installment..... ;) ;)

Hi Jason,

I also like being introduced to new music. I'm very much a 'sappy 70's' guy and she's into the indie music scene. Yin to my yang so to speak. (insert witty Dennis line here).

Glad you liked it.

Really nice, can't add much to previous posts ... only a happy echo :)

Maybe a note about Vashti Bunyan would interest you guys. Her basic story is easy to find on Wikipedia, that is: being a part of the hippie music scene in 60's England, releasing a commercially unsuccessful album, then raising her kids on a farm for 30 years while, unknown to her, the album quietly became appreciated and a highly $ought after collector$ item.

Just wanted to mention one detail that is not in the Wikipedia bio and that grabbed my attention when I first read about her a couple years ago.
What do we all eventually end up doing a Google search on ? Time is up ! The answer is: We Google our OWN name.

So, in the early days of the internet (late 90s), Vashti Bunyan did just that, and suddenly realized that she was famous and that her supposedly failed album was now a hot property.

I've tried my name on all the search engines I can find, but none has worked as well for me yet :side:

Thank you AcousticAl and AcousticElle

PS
Great song!

Train Song

Travelling north, travelling north to find you
Train wheels beating, the wind in my eyes
Don’t even know what I’ll find when I get to you
Call out your name love, don’t be surprised

It’s so many miles and so long since I’ve met you
Don’t even know what I’ll find when I get to you
But suddenly now, I know where I belong
It’s many hundred miles but it won’t be long

What will I do if there’s someone with you
Maybe someone you’ve always known
How do I know I can come and give to you
Love with no warning and find you alone

It’s so many miles and so long since I’ve met you
Don’t even know what I’ll find when I get to you
But suddenly now, I know where I belong
It’s many hundred miles and it won’t be long

Thanks for the lyrics-- but my part is MISSING.
A small oversight- or a big hint?

Hmmm.
:)

Al and Helen, It's all been said, this was great. It looks like a very enjoyable way to spend an evening. I don't think my wife would do anymore than listen but I am glad that she does that!

Bob- Thanks. I'll pass on your compliment to H.

Vanessa- I can hit an ok falsetto- but any high singing in this song is Helen.

Anton- Glad you liked it.

Tony- Thank you, my friend. The only one to have my back so far and keep me FRONT AND CENTRE in the shot!! B)

Chas- Thanks. I'm not crazy about the original either.

Pierre- Thanks, and thanks for the background on Vashti.

Pete- You're right. It's the second best way I can think of to enjoy an evening. ;)
