Pierre,

I didn’t start working on this until after playing for a wedding the first of September. Definitely a recent concentrated effort.

Dan,

That was really very nice. There seems to be a million and one ways that people play this song and your arrangement certainly fits right up there with the best. As for the introduction, I loved it. It's one of the things that made your version a bit unique. In my opinion you need to keep the intro. Thanks for sharing Dan. I always look forward to your performances. Oh and the guitar sounded great.

Jim,

Sorry, just noticed your question.

The amplifier is an inexpensive “Crate” acoustic amplifier my brother gave me. Don’t know how old it is, sat in a closet for years.

I only use the amplifier to make YouTube videos.

So far, when I perform it’s always acoustically – no amplifier required.

I play and sing this evening at a local retirement home. I play occasionally at the local VA Hospital. Waiting for my background check to get processed so I can play the VA on a regular basis. My voice can easily fill the room, don’t need amplification.

Hope that answered your question.

Very nicely played Dan. And awesome news to hear you'r playing at the VA.
I know how rewarding it can be to play at places like that. I do a homeless shelter here.
Working on a couple of senior homes also.

Great stuff Dan, enjoyed that. I hope Neil does a fingerpicking lesson on this as it is a favourite of mine.

Is that a Taylor 816ce Tobacco Sunburst you are playing by any chance?

Dan:

Very nice! I really like that song. It has been covered by so many different artists over the years. Some very good, some not so good.... :) One of my favorite covers is by Jeff Healey.

I like the "chorus" you added in. I also thought you played very smoothly and you looked very comfortable (at least compared to how I feel when I play.... :woohoo: )

The Taylor sounds very good. Your clips are always solid!

An accomplished classical guitarist as a kid???? That is very cool. Gave it up for Karate? Which discipline? I am very glad you decided to revisit the guitar after all these years. Love your perspective on a lot of the threads.

BTW, how did the wedding go? I know you were ready. The clips you posted while getting prepared were very good as well.

Thanks for sharing this one!

MJ
