Very reminiscent of a version I saw Clapton do. I liked his very much and I like yours also. Thanks for the look.

Hi Rick, that was a swell performance and I have to give a thumbs up. Smooth delivery, lotsa technique, and all :)

I do wonder how the mood, or emotion, of this tune is affected by such a jazzy (hurried ?) delivery.
Like, what would the emotional pull on "Puff the Magic Dragon" be with this approach ?

Another example is Israel Kamakawiwoʻole's (cut and paste that name!) version on ukulele.
It is up-tempo, but manages to stay with an innocent, childlike feel.

I hope you don't mind this kind of advice. Myself, I'm just happy just to get through any song without messing up.

Pierre

Thanks, all, for your comments. Cosmic, no problem at all with you analysis. It's such a revered song. I know it's odd to hear it played differently. Not sure I'll play the fast version live...

Rick I really enjoyed your different take on this classic song. The energy and lift was cool.

From the looks of things music is a big part of your life. Are you a professional muso? A percussionist perhaps?

I really enjoyed your singing on this too.

Nice one.

M.
