Bravo!!!

Man Drayl you sure do know your way around all this mixing stuff. Maybe some day I will find the time to work out some of this mixing. Just really enjoy seeing what you come up with. So, great job on this song. And look forward to more from you as always.

I'm not quite sure how I missed this thread for so long, but I'm glad I sobered up and eventually found it. Great work, Daryl. You just seem to get better and better all the time. Your playing is always textbook steady and rock solid, a joy to listen to.

Jim - Thank you! I'm glad you appreciate the lyrics & chords in the post. And thanks for the "Almost What You Need" suggestion. I'm working on it!

Kev - Thank you. I'd be glad to help you on your "mixing" way. Anytime.

Dennis - Glad you sobered up too! Thank you. Paul's songs seem to fit me pretty well.

Hey Daryl,

I don't know this song or Paul Thorn, but enjoyed your version of it.
Nice mixing of everything as well.

Unless Jim has another great suggestion, here's the last Paul Thorn song you'll (probably) get from me.
Craig, are you still playing along with me? ;-)

capo 1st fret

(G)(Dm7) twice

(G) You smile at (Dm7) me but your (E7) green eyes never (Am7) linger
You (D/F#) turn away
(G) You talk to (Dm7) me and twirl your (E7) long hair with your (Am7) finger
I'm (D/F#) blown away
(Em) And you don't real(A)ize (Em) when you walk a(Am7)way I die in(G)side

Now I'm missing (B7) out on all of your (C) love
I came close but (Cm) just not close e(G)nough
I knew going (B7) in there was no guaran(C)tee
Just my luck I'm (Cm) almost what you (G) need

(G)(Dm7) twice

(G) When you feel (Dm7) down and all a(E7)lone you always (Am7) call me
And I (D/F#) make you laugh
(G) You swear you (Dm7) love me heart and (E7) soul just like the (Am7) brother
You (D/F#) never had
(Em) But whatever I (A) do (Em) I always end (Am7) up without you (G) girl

Now I'm missing (B7) out on all of your (C) love
I came close but (Cm) just not close e(G)nough
I knew going (B7) in there was no guaran(C)tee
Just my luck I'm (Cm) almost what you (G) need

(B7) (C) (Cm)

(G) Now I'm missing (B7) out on all of your (C) love
I came close but (Cm) just not close e(G)nough
I knew going (B7) in there was no guaran(C)tee
Just my luck I'm (Cm) almost what you (G) need

(G)(Dm7) twice

Daryl,
I almost missed this! Your usual great job! Always well done! We've already played the first one together! I was out of town for a week at my daughter's volleyball tournament and when I returned I only skimmed the first page of the forum. I'm really glad this popped back up to the top! I always like your choice of songs, I really like your band  , you are so solid that it's good for my timing to play along, and I don't have to sing!! . Thanks for thinking of me! You keep posting them and we'll keep playing together!

Craig

Great work Daryl, I have just been catching up on your Paul Thorn series of videos. You kept the singing ability a secret, you have been keeping that under wraps for too long. Nice sound all round. I recognize the time and effort that goes into all of this and glad you have shared it with us.

I am also glad that Jim introduced you and then you in turn introduced us to Paul Thorn, if that makes sense? Love this guys voice, very earthy and raw in a sense. His songs have meaning and story. He has become a favourite of mine at the moment.

Well done and keep them coming. B) :)

Daryl,

Such a comforting tune, and your effects do soften it even more ... really charming.

I just have a lingering suspicion that you underestimate your vocals without the effects, but no criticism intended, I'm always a really happy camper when you post :)

Just between you and me: there's something hypnotic about your right thumb ... but I guess everyone tells you that ?

Thanks !
Pierre
