I’ve always wanted to do this song but never thought I could pull off the lead bits. But Michele challenged me to do a “happy” song (I guess I’ve been doing a lot of “un-happy” songs of late) so I thought I’d finally give this one a try. What a fun fun song to do. Those of you with electric guitars should give this one a try! Thanks Michele for the challenge. I really enjoyed this project and am sorry that it’s over.
Johnny B. Goode – Chuck Berry
Deep down Louisiana close to New Orleans
Way back up in the woods among the evergreens
There stood a log cabin made of earth and wood
Where lived a country boy named Johnny B. Goode
Who never ever learned to read or write so well
But he could play his guitar just like a ringing a bell
Go go
Go Johnny go go
Go Johnny go go
Go Johnny go go
Go Johnny go go Johnny B. Goode
He used to carry his guitar in a gunny sack
Go sit beneath the tree by the railroad track
Oh, the engineers would see him sitting in the shade
Strumming with the rhythm that the drivers made
People passing by they would stop and say
Oh my but that little country boy can play
Go go
Go Johnny go go
Go Johnny go go
Go Johnny go go
Go Johnny go go Johnny B. Goode
His mother told him "Someday you will be a man,
And you will be the leader of a big old band.
Many people coming from miles around
To hear you play your music when the sun goes down
Maybe someday your name will be in lights
Saying Johnny B. Goode tonight."
Go go go Johnny go
Go go go Johnny go
Go go go Johnny go
Go go go Johnny go
Go Johnny B. Goode
For those who don’t know the song here’s what I was attempting:

Daryl my man, you are one COOOOOOOOOOOOOL cucumber.
I was just about to go to bed and thought I'd take a peep at TG. I'm so glad I did. I'm grinning from ear to ear.
I've heard and seen this project build and loved every teaser that I've been sent, from the initial 15s to the full blown four....five... Six-track ??? (You never know with Daryl he's both talented and shy) masterpiece that this is.
I love every track in this. Your leads are AMAZING, your solo brings a nice change, your bass is really cool, really cool, your vocals sound great and edgy and your rhythm is rockin'. AWESOME!!!
Next challenge ... For anyone. .... to get Daryl to sing ON the camera. I'm told it's a step too far. But....he used to say that about getting in front if the camera at all...well his face anyway. And now look at the Rocker! B)
Daryl, just when I think your videos couldn't get any cooler, you post something like this.
ROCKIN' AWESOME!!!
