Was feeling a bit under the weather yesterday and decided to have some fun with this song and the video software. Someday I'll have to learn the harmonica part that is supposed to go with the intro. This song came off of The Eagles second Album, Desperado. Lyrics below.
Songwriters: FREY, GLENN LEWIS / HENLEY, DON / SOUTHER, JOHN DAVID / BROWNE, JACKSON
They were duelin', doolin-dalton
High or low, it was the same
Easy money and faithless women
Red-eye whiskey for the pain
Go down, bill dalton, it must be god's will,
Two brothers lyin' dead in coffeyville
Two voices call to you from where they stood
Lay down your lay books now
They're no damn good
Better keep on movin', doolin-dalton
'til your shadow sets you free
If you're fast, and if you're lucky
You will never see that hangin' tree
Well, the towns lay out across the dusty plains
Like graveyards filled with tombstones, waitin' for the names
And a man could use his back, or use his brains
But some just went stir crazy, lord, 'cause nothin' ever changed
'til bill doolin met bill dalton
He was workin' cheap, just bidin' time
Then he laughed and said,'i'm goin,'
And so he left that peaceful life behind

Excellent upload, Mark.
It's a new song to me and it's definitely growing on me.
Ambitious to sing it in (what I assume is) the original key and you did a great job of that too!
Thanks for sharing.

I guess you should be under the weather more often Mark, then we'd have more uploads from you! Hope you're feeling better and this sure must have helped! Nice job on a new one to me. Really nice sound coming out of that guitar of yours... but I think its just a good mic and no effects right?
Thanks everyone. Been a while.
Willem - As always thanks for watching and the nice words.
Bob - Thanks!! I wasn't aware that Ness did this song. I'll have to see if I can find it.
Daryl - Thank you sir. Just used a bit of reverb and compression on the vocal. It could use all the help it can get. I'll have to check the settings and get back with you.
Al- Key??? What key? I don't need no stinking Key......... . To be honest I just tried what was easiest for me and working with the original was it. I did try it down a whole step but couldn't get it to work without thinking too much. Thanks for the kind words.
Tom - Thank you. I'm glad you liked it. Yeah its one of my favorite as well.
Chris - Thank you as always. Yes the guitar track had no effects. Just the vocal did.
Pete - Thank you very much. Been a long time since I've posted anything. Hope to change that over the next few months.

Great work. I did a version of this a long while back, but only played the chords and could not pull off the singing parts. The thought of even being able to throw in the harmonica was way out of the question. Your strumming is always so smooth and comfortable. I thought your voice fit that very nicely and that your singing was stong. I think the others are right, you need to be under the weather more often, if it gets you to post a video... Cool work on the video as well.
