Is this picking pattern different than the one Neil describes in the lesson?

Jay,once uses
The pattern is different from Neil's. It is a 3,3,2 pattern like Croce uses. 8 quarter notes grouped in 3-3 and 2. Check out Operator and I'll Have To Say I Love You In A Song.

I went back and looked at Neil's lesson. He uses at least 2 picking patterns. One is the 3-3-2 and the other is more of a double bass arpeggio. What I missed by not using this lesson is the mix between picking and strumming. My version gets monotonous. I'm going to re-do this song using Neil's lesson as the basis and then I'll post it on the Student Review channel.
