Busking Simon & Garfunkel
Dennis, When I clicked on the link in your 1st post I was brought to a "slightly different" URL (https : // www . youtube . com / watch?v=vBgEmE9865Q). I simply cut and pasted the full URL into my reply to your post. Ta-da. Or should I say, "Voila"?

That was great Dennis! Nice guitar and vocals. This is probably my fav S&G song and you are dead right about the album. Good to see you back at TG!
Craig: Thanks so much. You're one of those people I've missed since I stopped hanging around TG. By the way, you have a sharp eye for detail: yes, it's a new music room -- formerly a closet that Jamie let me convert into a man cave devoted to guitar porn. There are rock posters all over the walls and guitar stuff everywhere. Even the chair I'm sitting on is made just for guitarists. Hey, you only live once (no offense to Shirley McClain).
Marc: I appreciate your comment. We missed you at camp last year, but the international group is reconvening in Seattle again next year.
Tom: I've always admired your playing. Thanks a bunch for your support.
Chris: I suspect we have similar taste in music.
Anton: Thanks for watching the video.

Hey Dennis,
It's great to see you posting
I thought that I could sing most of Simon and Garfunkel's repertoire by heart ...
but, err ... kinda forgot about this one ... lesson learned: Be careful before you boast !
So, this tune is now back on my radar ... I am the richer for it.
Ah, for the good old days, when we used to write poetry about drug transactions ...
"Coming into Los Angeles, bringing home a couple of keys ..."
I will leave how this applies to "The Only Living Boy in New York" to the discretion of our wiser TGers,
but I do feel a bit like an NSA operative listening in on it !
Dennis, you have a swell attack on whatever combination of chords and picking you are subjecting us to .... (cough!) :side:
My only suggestion for improvement would be to vary the intensity just a touch, as follows:
Since this is a very understated tune, there's good cause for jigging it up a bit at the chorus, for example, at 1m35s or so.
That's where some frustration (or anger) comes out in the lyrics, though it does falter quickly,
Anyway, it would just add a bit of salt in the mix ...
This is a cool performance.
Loved it, congrats
Pierre
