This is an experiment into sound and video layering. I recorded the backing track first then laid down instrumental and vocal tracks in that order. Then lip synced the video over top. This is a tribute to how difficult it is to get lip syncing right. Recording stars have a lot of talent to be able to pull it off.

PLEASE NOTE: If video was recently uploaded it will not work yet. YouTube will need a little more time to get the video ready. Please check back again soon.

Hello Bill,

First, congrats on being able to sync all of that together so well. Then making it appear that you were actually singing on the video is a trick too.

Secondly, your voice is perfect for Neil Diamond! just a beautiful rendition of this song! I enjoyed it very much and if I didn't know any better, I would have thought I was listening to N.D. singing it.

Personally, I have only attempted this process one time. It was a ton of work and I had help from a gentleman that has a home studio. Thank you again for posting your song and the video!

Wow Bart! Thanks for your comments. It was a lot of work but also a lot of fun. I've always liked Neil Diamond and it's a bonus that he sings a lot of his songs in my range. I'm thrilled to hear that you think I sound a little like him. The hardest part of this song is how N.D. sings off the beat in so many different parts of the song. Thanks for watching/listening.

Bill

Hi Bill,

Very nice performance all around. Cool the way you mixed all the parts, and as Bart said your vocals sound perfect for Neil Diamond.

Thanks for your posts

Bob

That was great Bill - so much fun to overlay your own guitar tracks.

nb I must have missed Neil's lip-sync lesson. Or maybe that's on Totally Vocals???

cheers, david
