Due to neverfoundthetime's demo of a Taylor 914ce, I fell in love with that guitar and went out and bought one. The sound is amazing and the new ES2 pickup system gets an amplified acoustic guitar as close to unplugged sound as possible.

Extremely sweet! How does it feel compared to your Martin? Nice relaxed playing by the way.

Thanks Daryl.
Two differences from the Martin. 1. The Martin is a dreadnought; the Taylor is a Grand Auditorium which is smaller. The smaller size plus the built in ebony armrest make it very comfortable. 2. The Martin nut is 1 11/16" and the Taylor nut is 1.75". The one extra 16th allows more room for finger picking and some cords, like the 3 finger A Neil teaches. The actions on both are set low. I can get away with that because my attack is light.

Wow Bill, what a fabulous sound you have going with your set-up, your voice and now the lovely Taylor!
Sounds perfect. I am a little chuffed that I precipitated the big buy! This would be at least the third buy I know of after me posting a guitar porn video

Was the Taylor plugged in or was everything going through the voice mic?

Edit: Ah, of course its plugged in! Duh! I should read first and ask later! You are so right, the plugged in sound is excellent acoustic. Really enjoyed this.

Really nice looking guitar and it sounds pretty good as well. You look like you have been playing that guitar for years.

Really enjoyed your singing as always. :)

Oh and Chris, you have a lot to answer for.

Chris,
No need to feel chuffed. I was in the market for quite awhile. Your input just pushed me over the edge. Actually that recording was unplugged, just me and my studio mic.

Kenny,
Thanks. The beautiful sound of this guitar inspires me to sing better.

Tom,
I have a hard time concentrating while playing this guitar; it is so pretty. Thanks for your comment on the singing. Chris shouldn't worry, he just gets us pointed in the right direction.

I well understand Bill I have actually played that model and may have been tempted, had I not already owned an 814 tobacco burst, which is also beautiful. Taylor make nice instruments. :)

Very nice Bill. I love your new 914CE. I have a sunburst 914CE but a little older model with the original expression system. They are fantastic guitars! In fact, I am in Southern California working this week and plan to stop by the Taylor factory tomorrow afternoon for another tour of the facility. I have been blessed with the opportunity to take this tour about 20 times now and never get tired of it! It is a BLAST!

Back to your song: You did a great job again on this tune. My question is how do you use that large microphone to sing in to without it picking up the guitar again? If you did the vocals separately, you really did a wonderful job of singing it exactly the same way again for the video performance.

Enjoyed your vocals and your playing!

Thanks...
Bart
