I found a vocals only video on YouTube and put it in my soundcloud channel so you can hear
what I started with:
Checkout all the reverb on the vocals. Very cool.

I also found a YouTube video of a guy (DrumTracksTv) just playing the drums for the song and I fit his drumming to Paul’s vocals.
The drums didn’t match perfectly, so I had to massage them a bit. They still aren’t exactly in sync but then again, neither is my playing. :-(

I’m playing bass, double tracked acoustic guitar, electric rhythm guitar, and the electric solo. I hope you all don’t mind too much that I didn’t
do all the video (PIP) work – it’s been a real challenge just getting my audio only video to play for everyone.

Anyway, even though I played a few bad notes and the timing is off here and there (I mostly settled down after the first 15 seconds) it was a really fun song to put together:

Can't buy me (Em) love (Am) love, (Em) love, (Am) love
Can't buy me (F6) love (G6) love

I'll (C7) buy you a diamond ring my friend, if it makes you feel alright.
I'll (F7) get you anything my friend, if it (C7) makes you feel all right.
Cause (G7) I don't care too (F7) much for money, (F7) money can't buy me (C7) love.

I'll (C7) give you all I've got to give, if you say you love me too.
I (F7) may not have a lot to give but what I (C7) got I'll give to you.
(G7) I don't care too (F7) much for money, (F7) money can't buy me (C7) love.

Can't buy me (Em) love, (Am) love (C7) everybody tells me so.
Can't buy me (Em) love (Am) love, (F6) no, no, no (G6) no

(C7) Say you don't need no diamond rings and I'll be satisfied.
(F7) Tell me that you want the kind of things that (C7) money just can't buy.
(G7) I don't care too (F7) much for money, (F7) money can't buy me (C7) love.

Solo: C7(4) F7(2) C7(2) G7(1) F7(1) C7(2)

Can't buy me (Em) love, (Am) love (C7) everybody tells me so.
Can't buy me (Em) love (Am) love, (F6) no, no, no (G6) no

(C7) Say you don't need no diamond rings and I'll be satisfied.
(F7) Tell me that you want the kind of things that (C7) money just can't buy.
(G7) I don't care too (F7) much for money, (F7) money can't buy me (C7) love.

Can't buy me (Em) love (Am) love, (Em) love, (Am) love
Can't buy me (F6) love (G6) love (C7) oh (C7)

Hey Daryl,

Your parts were perfect, I think it was Paul that was a little off in a couple of spots :)

In all seriousness, it sounded wonderful! I bet you had a blast putting that all together.

Thank you for sharing with us!

Daryl,
That was great!!! I loved all the parts and especially the electric solo. As Bart said, I'll bet that was a lot of fun to put together.

Great fun Daryl, the solo was magic! You've got a real feel for these songs.

Can you tell me what settings you were using the get the authentic e-guitar sound on the solo?

Hey Daryl,

Good find. Fun project. Great job getting the video to work. You've got lots of good stuff happening in there, the solo is perfect and the bass sounds wonderful too.

Nice one!

Bart - Thank you. It was a fun song to do. And surprisingly simple.

David - Thank you. The solo has "George" written all over it.

Bill - Thank you. It often amazes me how simple each instrument's part is, but when
they are all combined it sounds so good. And to my ears, Paul's bass playing always
completes the song.

Chris - Thank you. I've always loved the Beatles. I use Reaper as my DAW
and it comes with lots of effects. The one I used for the solo was a
"dual amp modeler". The modeler has lots of "amps" to choose from (Fenders,
Marshalls, Mesa Boogie, Vox, etc). I also used a "telephone" EQ setting.
BTW thank you for all your help.

Michele - Thank you (for all your help too). Gotta love the bass!

Kevin - Thank you. As I am not overly thrilled with my playing (in parts) on this "production", I may very well do a re-do. And if I do, I will most likely take the time to do all the video stuff. Stay tuned! ;-)
