Three chords! Just for the fun of it.

I was planning on playing the lead part too, but I quickly realized that the lead player on the video is WAY better than I could ever possibly be. For the best viewing and listening “pleasure” make the video full screen and use some good headphones and crank it up!

Just take those old records (E) off the shelf
I’ll sit and listen to them (A) by my self
Today’s music ain't ( B ) got the same soul
I like that old time (E) rock and roll

Don't try and take me to a (E) disco
You’ll never even get me (A) out on the floor
In ten more minutes I'll be ( B ) late for the door
I like that old time (E) rock and roll

Still like that old time (E) rock and roll
That kind of music just (A) soothes my soul
I reminisce about the ( B ) days of old
With that old style (E) rock and roll ( B )
- guitar solo (E A B E B ) -
Won't go and hear them play the (E) tango
I’d rather hear some blues or (A) funky old soul
There’s only one sure way to ( B ) get me to go
Start playing old style (E) rock and roll

Call me a relic call me (E) what you will
Say I'm old-fashioned say I'm (A) over the hill
Today’s music ain’t ( B ) got the same soul
I love that old time (E) rock and roll ( B )

Still like that old time (E) rock and roll
That kind of music just (A) soothes my soul
I reminisce about the ( B ) days of old
With that old time (E) rock and roll ( B )
- sax solo (E A B E B ) -
Still like that old style (E) rock and roll
That kind of music just (A) soothes my soul
I reminisce about the ( B ) days of old
With that old time (E) rock and roll ( B )

*Still like that old style (E) rock and roll
That kind of music just (A) soothes my soul
I reminisce about the ( B ) days of old
With that old time (E) rock and roll ( B )

Still like that old style (E) rock and roll
That kind of music just (A) soothes my soul
I reminisce about the ( B ) days of old
With that old style (E) rock and roll ( B )

Still like that old style (E) rock and roll
That kind of music just (A) soothes my soul
I reminisce about the ( B ) days of old
With that old time (E) rock and roll ( B )
- guitar solo (E A B E)

Oh Man!!!! Daryl!!! that was freaking AWESOME. Everyone did their part so well. Your bass and rhythm were perfect, the singer had that Seeger grit, and the lead guitarist was over the top. The others were great as well. Thanks for posting this great entertainment.

BTW I'm still working on WSoP and based on the quality of this video, which raises the bar, you're going to have to wait for me to get it to that level.

Very cool Daryl.

Your bass technique looks so fab. You make it look SO easy.

SO MUCH love for this!

Damn, Daryl, you have this virtual collaborative thing perfected to an art form in its own right. Love the chapter feel of the sequential lead guitarist windows, great touch.

That vocalist. Wow. I want her to sing anything I play; that voice digs down to my soul and pulls out gritty happiness.

It probably goes without saying your bass and rhythm lines were over the top good, but I'll say it anyway because: they are. :side:

I'm gonna echo Bill and note that I still have a lot of butt-busting ahead of me before my contribution to AWSoP can meet (or even approach) this kind of bar. Fortunately, I love working hard at work worth doing (to steal a famous historical quote) and music ain't even really work (to paraphrase a famous song). B)

Thanks for sharing more of your art!

Mark

Great job, great song, great collab Daryl! You need to grow your hair long like the backing singer

Wow Daryl. What a great collaboration. You have so much talent. That female singer was also really great. I loved her voice. Great post.

Bill – Thanks. It was a fun group to play with. No pressure on AWSoP. Your part is the most difficult (and important) part. Mark has my bass and guitar parts already. He’s still working on his drum part.
Michele – Thanks. The bass part came out really well I thought.
David – Thank you. Funny what 3 chords can sound like.
Mark – Thank you. I do enjoy working with others (especially when they don’t know it!) ;-) Like I said to Bill, no pressure on AWSoP. You’ll get to it when you get to it. But I suspect that your new “toy” will help you a lot!
Craig – Thanks. Glad you could play along.
Chris – Thanks. I’ll think about the hair thing.
Sandy – Thank you. You’re way too kind.
