Lyrics : The left hand is the key to good guitar tone
Make a G, just like me
Watch your wrist, no baseball grip
See my A, the only way
Now back to D

The right hand is the key to guitar timing
It never stops, did I Say
It never stops, did I say
Never stops, never stops
It never stops

Putting it all together is the key
To making music, uh huh
To making music, uh huh
The right note at the right time
That’s all there is

Jim,

Very creative. And you've learned the proper fingerings for the chords.

Very clever Jim, picking out Neils key points.

Good luck

Thanks for the comments! It's a fun little tune (surprised no one has set up a Donovan group on the site - he has a number of good tunes!) Feel free to play along, add a verse, post a video response, collaborate... :cheer:

And on this song, I finally quit my habit of strumming with just my index finger (it has a blister) and used a pick.

Thanks, Izzy, just trying to keep up with you :cheer:

The night I posted my first contest entry, I was feeling a little depressed as I went to bed, as there were only 1-2 comments on here at the time (as it had just been posted) and I knew I had played the guitar pretty poorly especially in the beginning of the song. Then I had happened to go to the youtube page and noticed some jerk (who I assume is not a member of totally guitars) posted a mean comment (you lost)... anyway, I was laying awake in bed and wondering if I should recall my contest entry and thought of this tune and these lyrics just about wrote themselves.

As I explained in my introduction in December, I am left-handed (and as any left-handed person will tell you, we are more creative than you righties), playing the guitar right-handed
