Hi Gang,
On a call just the other day I mentioned this song to our long time friend Jeff Cohen. I mentioned that it is a really good ear training exercise, along with a theoretical puzzle as far as why the chord progression works. Dan Hicks may not be as famous around the world as he is in the SF Bay Area but he and his band(s) were influential in the early 1970s. Moody Richard has a lot of chords and sections so give it a listen and PM me with your thoughts until a lot of people have checked in on this thread. Let me know what you think the chords are and how they might be related to each other.
Neil
And what changes to the arrangement or phrasing do you notice 40 years later?

The ear training was interesting.
It's a great tune.
In the weekly news you mentioned you may put a lesson together.
That would be great.
