and getting the chance to see any one of the original band members is a total treat.
I really appreciate opening bands and always do my best to get to shows right when
they start, so I can catch all the bands playing. I've come across several bands that I
have never heard of and absolutely loved.
(Ahem...Infinite Pizza)
One of the openers was Rose Milk, a local band from VA Beach.
(A big shout out to the other opening bands, Glenrose, Dirty Toys and Mammoth Black,
all of which were equally awesome.)
At the end of their set, Rose Milk guitarist/vocalist Alexander Lugo proceeded to smash his guitar
on stage. What an unexpected treat and oh the smell of shattered/shorted electrical components.

In between one of the sets I wandered over to the merch table, Alexander had his shattered guitar
sitting among the buttons, albums and stickers. I jokingly asked how much for the guitar, to which
he replied "50 bucks", my reply was "50 bucks?! It's broken, I can't even play it".
We shared a laugh and he simply handed a chunk over to me. I of course picked up some merchandise,
I'm a sucker for buttons!
I spent the rest of the show with a portion of an electrical guitar body tucked behind my sweatshirt which
was appropriately tied around my waist.
It had gotten warm from all the moshing going on, which I was of course involved in
