I know I shouldn't say it on this board, but Neil Young
gets my vote. And add GunsNRoses to the list too.

Speedie- you and my wife! She hates Neil Young and doesn't understand how I can listen to him let alone play his music.

Two guys, Dylan and Young, who are great musicians but can't sing for s..t! But no one can dispute their talent! IMHO of course!! ;-)

BEAR, I have met many people in my life that share
a very low opinion of Neil Young and his music. I
know his singing is a little rough, but I have always
liked his songwriting and his guitar talent.

I have to agree with Speedie about GNR. I liked Slash
and Izzy, but Axl Rose was too much. He needed (needs)
a huge attitude adjustment!

I think you either love or hate Neil. I'm a huge C,S,N and occasionlly Y fan so I've followed Neil since Harvest. I hate the guy's politics but he isn't afraid to take risks and explore the fringes of music. Much of his stuff I really don't like but then he hits it out of the park with a couple of great tunes. But there is no questioning how much he added to C,S,N & Y.

You're right on about GNR. They had some great tunes but the personalities are/were so over the top it distracts from their music. Slash is a seriously strange dude! Izzy Stradlin seemed a bit more normal but who knows? Rose ended up hating the guy which probably means Izzy is an alright dude since Rose is a D Bag in my book!

I don't want to know anything about the musician. I just listen to the music. If its good, then great, if not, then I just pass them by. Knowing this or that about the musician themselves just messes up my perception of the music.

At one time I might have agreed about Neil Young but the man just grows on you, and he says it like it is with his politics and you gotta respect that even if you don't agreee, GNR well I agree with that one.

I didn't really get into Neil Young music till quite recently and his playing is just outa the box his singing well he does it better than me so that aint bad and it really suits the music he plays its all part of the package really.

Rick you could say you hate Segovia and get away with it here. Ummm probably not now I think about it.

Brian May aint that bad just not as good as some would say, although *I hav a few of his solo career albums and some of it is really good. Not a lot of people ever listen to his solo stuff which is a shame really

I know this is so subjective and this thread could get ugly but hey when you hear Brian May singin from the heart like this (just wish the audience would have left him to it though) Hey he also breaks a lot of Neils guitar rules the hand position is all wrong and god forbid he has his thumb too high... but I think he's earned his place in rock history check out his Back to the light album...
