How about a cover that's BETTER than the original!

Hey Cabro,

Good posts! Although I do apologize that I haven't gotten around to giving you grief over your 'Devo pick' yet.. :)
Thanks Al. I appreciate the kind words. About the Devo thing though. I stand by their version of Satisfaction. I think it took some rather large cajones to take an iconic song like that and do what they did with it. I'm just surprised I haven't caught any flack over it yet. If you haven't heard it, I think the studio version deserves a listen.

Chris
Chris- I was going to question your Devo choice and then I thought-- Nah!!! Ballsy choice though! :cheer:

For my next submission, Deep Purple's rendition of the Joe South song Hush. I have both versions and like the original but it was years after I first heard the DP version that I found out it was a cover.

This is a long way back in the discussion but you are so right about that Gingold!!
Almost anything by Bob Dylan that someone else covered.

Here's another one you may not know about. Chantal Kreviazuk (Canadian) covering The Beatles 'In My Life'. Nice twist on it IMHO.
I think it was used as the theme for the show Providence (that I never watched).

Couldn't find her on camera- but here's a youtube clip where someone cut Harry Potter images to it. Timely I guess with the release of the new HP.

Canadian singer/songwriter Sarah McLachlan covering 'Blackbird'. Again, nice twist.

Glad you like it, David. That's another thing I like about this site- and these threads in particular. I'm exposed to music, artists and songs that I'd never heard of before.

Just found this tonight while adding to the 'Canadian Music' thread.

Colin James redoing "I'm Losing You" by Lennon. I like this just as much.
