Musician's Revenge
I've never flown with any of my guitars but if possible i'd look at carry on baggage. I once saw an advert here about checking in special items of value which purportedly went through a safer handling process, this included an insurance premium
UPDATE:
Dave Carroll’s ditty about United Airlines has racked up
3.7 million hits on YouTube and caused the airline’s stock
price to plunge by ten per cent, costing shareholders $180m.
I'm not sure if he can take credit for all of that, but it's
nice to see a little guy win for a change.
I'm sure United has to be thinking that replacing or repairing
that $3500 Taylor would have been a cheap solution to the
situation.

I was just on Taylor Guitar's site and they were advising people that current rules allow anyone to carry on vs. check, thier guitars to minimize damamge. But they advise checking with the airline first because as anyone who has flown recently knows, there is no damn space anywhere to put anything let alone my Taylor!!

Well, I have to say, it might be taking advantage of something bad that happened, but if I was a professional musician that flew a lot, I'd probably buy one. $250 is a small price to pay for peace of mind when it comes to my professional guitar.
