Now that's a massive hit: 582 drummers play their way to a new world record

They are the hellraisers of the music world.

But the 582 drummers who drummed together yesterday shunned the example
of the likes of The Who's Keith Moon and Led Zeppelin's John Bonham to work
together in perfect harmony.

They beat out the same rhythm for five minutes to set a new world record.

Hitting a new record: 582 drummers assembled at the National Indoor
Arena and beat the same rhythm for five minutes, setting a new world record

The efforts at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, sanctioned by Guinness
World Records, beat the previous record of 533 set by a group of U.S. drummers
in 2006.

The record attempt was organised to increase awareness of multiple sclerosis
and succeeded in raising £20,000 for charity.
The clan beat the previous record set in America in 2006 by a group of 533
drummers
The event was set up to increase awareness of multiple sclerosis and succeeded

Jojo Mayer. Hands down. One of the most unique and talented drummers I've ever got the privilege of seeing play.

Can't touch that technique. He's kind of an odd fellow, though.

Most influencial drummer of all time? Ron Wilson.

He was the drummer on a little tune you may remember called Wipeout !!!!!

I have to go with Richard John Cyril "Rick" Allen. How many drummers can come back to make even bigger hit albums after losing an arm?
