Are there any songs that would be considered "piano songs" out there that you play or would like to learn on the guitar?

For me, there would be several for sure. One obscure one would be "Silver, Blue & Gold" by Bad Company.

Another would be (I apologize in advance to most of you because most are NOT fans of anything from the 80's) "The Angel Song" by Great White

I'll post more when I get time. How about all of you????

Silver Blue and Gold. Always loved that song. Good call MJ... er.. Beaker. LOL

Personally Beaker, I'd drop the Great White and insert Jay Ferguson's thunder Island instead.

The first three songs are pretty good, but I really like Mad World for the guitar.

Thanks Mark! It looks pretty tough to play doesn't it? I have the tab for it fingerstyle I think! :cheer:

I knew I would get some hazing on that one, but I have always liked the melody. Plus, I have to admit, That I am a Great White fan. Saw them in concert a few times back in HS and College. Other than their mainstream hair band stuff, they actually had some good bluesy tunes as well (though most of them never really made it big).

That being said, the "Thunder Island" tune is a good one as well.

How about "Rocket Man" by Elton John (seen many covers of this for the guitar) and then there are several Jackson Browne songs that would good candidates as well.

:P

Yes, quite a bit above my level, but I'd like to have the TAB on hand for when the ability and inspiration come together.

I'll PM you with my email if you have it and you're willing to share.

Thanks
Mark

Mark, I sent Bear a different version in dropped D tuning that I think is easier to play. PM me if you want it. If you use tabbing software, let me know which.

Thanks guys. I've PM'd you both.
Bear, I should have told you that I use Guitar Pro, if it matters for what you have available to send.
