Maybe this one by Prince ?
I just came upon this video ... are you as surprised as I am ?
Prince comes in at 3:30 into the video.
He also has an original way of getting rid of his guitar.

Good post Pierre, Prince is a great musician. I always like the simple but addictive rhythm of When the doves cry.

For me the greatest solo is Stairway to heaven because of the melodic approach.

The next one in line is Voodoo Child (slight return) from Steevie Ray Vaughn (cover of Jimmy Hendrix's ). He has this way of making the guitar cry with his accurate bends that you cannot find anywhere else. Like Jimmy, he is the only guitar on stage carrying the whole melody, rhythm and solo.

Wow ...awesome! no dispute here.
To say best!, ??? that's subjective.

not saying best, just throwing in Eric Claptons Layla into the mix

The solos in this original are way up there in my book, also agree with the aforementioned SRV and Clapton.

I have two favorites - if you've never heard them, check them out. For you old-timers, the first is Dave Mason's solo in "Look at You, Look at Me" from his first album "Alone Together" in 1970.

And for those of you who live in a closet and think that Clapton, Hendrix, and Vaughan were the best, take a listen to Joe Bonamassa's scorching solo in "If Heartaches Were Nickels" on YouTube. It may not be the best, because that's subjective of course, but find me anyone in the current scene who's better!

Some great stuff here, I love Stevie Ray Vaugh, Eric Clapton goes without saying and I was a HUGE Prince fan there for a while. He is an awesome musician and a over-the-top performer.

I seen this video with Prince for the first time about a year ago and I was blown away by it , I have never been a big Prince fan, but you have to give credit where credit it due, He is a very talented guitarist and I loved his finish.

What a great song, if everyone didn't notice, the guitarist playing next to TP's left is Danny (not spelled right), George Harrisons son.
