Willem, while I have never been a big country music fan, I have to admit that I like two-thirds of The Dixie Chicks. I think the sisters, Martie Maquire (violin) and Emily Robison (banjo), are very talented musicians. I never much cared for Natalie Maines, even before her controversary. It appears that history will prove she was right, but it is better to leave political discussions off the stage.

You and me both Wilem. Obviously, all of the people in that auditorium loved em too.

Can you believe all of those hecklers out there making all that noise while the ARTISTS were trying to sing?

I have always liked the Dixie Chicks even though I am not a country music fan at all. As for their controversial remarks, I have always felt that the music that touches me the most makes a statement about social issues. So when an artist takes a bold and sometimes unpopular stand it usually draws me closer to their music. Some of the great protest songs of the sixties are just as relevant in today's time. I guess the old hippie in me never really died.

I had seen the video of the chics with James, but never with Stevie.

Those girls are really pleasant to listen too. Did they just quit to have babies, or what? I haven't heard from them in a while.
