check out this awesome video where Jimmy Page describes how the song Kashmir came about, then The Edge and Jack White jump in with him to jam a little bit on it
jimmy page is so cool in this movie called "It Might Get Loud" - you must check this out if you've not already !!

It might get Loud is an excellent insight to how these guys work.

Thanks Kevin for the video. I saw the movie when it came out a while ago, which was a great one. I play Kashmir but never realized he was doing the little riff at 2:44 with his guitar (always thought it was violin thing), I will add this (once I figure it out
).

Funny, I've seen the movie (and loved it), but I don't remember this segment in it.
