This is a fun list. I am unfamiliar with many on it, and it's always good to learn about other artists. After breezing through it, I did learn something . . . . . . . I must be living in a vacuum. I would have bumped someone to put Nancy Wilson on the list. Also, a top 100 guitarist list without Django Reinhardt is like a top 100 singers list without Billie Holiday . . . . er, wait a second, I guess they have one of those, too.

How soon we forget.

An interesting reminder about those who are on it and one or two who aren't

I suspect that most of the people that put this list together have never played a note in their life. I would rather see a list voted on by the guitar players on that list. B)

As a matter of fact, I do. The elders in my family told me some years ago Roy Clark dated my aunt when they were teens.

He should be on some kind of a list because he had some mad pick skills. I recently finished "Yesterday When I Was Young" because I think it's the only song he ever did that I can play. I've been a Roy Clark fan for many, many years, and even more so now because only by learning some guitar myself do I understand how talented he is. I think Roy Clark has a level of musical diversity and sophistication uncommon among most country artists. Thanks for that video Scott. That stirs up some some very old memories.

Great video Scott, but I've always preferred the acoustic version he did. I think it was featured on an episode of "The Odd Couple".

The list is someone's idea of great, but sadly, it really has nothing to do with anything.
Lets make our own list, but define the criteria right up front. Something we can all look at and say, "Yeah, this fits".

Apparently Rolling Stone magazine currently have two 100 Greatest Guitarists lists one by David Fricke, a senior RS editor and this one compiled by guitarists themselves. They don't say which guitarists though!

There truly are so many that are really good in certain ways. Roy Clark is someone whom I've lost track of until yesterday. I wonder what he's up too?

WOW!!
Roy Clark, I have not heard that name in years. That was very impressive.
Excellent, I just thought he was an old country singer.
Simply great.

Thanks for sharing

P.S. What does Rolling Stone know?
