Imagine trying to learn this from the audio only! :silly: :woohoo:  :S
I wonder how often he breaks a string with all the tuning he does!
Great audio quality.
Thanks for sharing!

Very nice. I'm usually not one for gimmicks but this performance was very tasteful. Outstanding tone he was getting out of that guitar.

That's a high-quality discovery, RicksPick. I met Trevor Gordon Hall at the Canadian Guitar Festival last summer, and he is an extraordinary young man as well as an extraordinary musician. It was hard for me to believe he placed only third in the competition. You guys will want to keep an eye on this fellow; his best music is yet to come, and when it gets here, you will not be disappointed.
I think all the tuning in "Outside The Lines" is the influence of Michael Manring, with whom Trevor made an album. Manring plays lever-tuned solo bass. I would think this much on the fly tuning is much more difficult with tuning machines than it is with levers, but that's the kind of raw talent Trevor Gordon Hall has.

I loved it. That was completely unique. I've never seen or heard anything like that. What kind of guitar does he play? I couldn't tell.

Stonebridge in the first video. Funny thing is, I'm not even sure it's his. He usually plays Martin, and the Martin with the attached Kalimba in the second video is what he plays now.
Personally, I have played Stonebridge, and I have a very high opinion of them.
