I only just stumbled upon this amazing musician (and then discovered that he had also passed away 15 years ago). For any fans of Neil Young, Michael Hedges' version are well worth a listen. Here's one:

That was great Stuart,,great arrangement he did on his acoustic,,if I know well by NJ it was electric guitar?

That's a real find Stu... thanks for posting it.

I remember Dan (Wrench) on the forum mentioning him being the guy who started tapping the guitar in the 80's... found this, love it!

I've been kinda out of the loop for a while but your post warrants a quick note. The Michael Hedges album "Breakfast in the Field" (Windham Hill) has always been a major favorite of mine; a true "desert island disc" if there ever was one. Check it out; you won't be sorry.

Guess I don't check this forum often enough as I am just seeing this now. MH to me is one of the most eclectic and innovative guitar players ever. No discussion of him would be complete without referring to this performance at Wolf Trap where he introduced "Because It's There" on the harp guitar



The performance begins at 2:30 but the intro is somewhat amusing.
