Guitar lesson with Don Felder

A NYC local radio station recently held a contest in which the winner received a guitar lesson with Don Felder. They played parts of “Hotel California” on electrics.

The “student” is clearly not a beginner but what I found interesting is that he is left handed and is being instructed by the right handed Don Felder. I always wondered how that dynamic worked.

Since “Hotel California” is a target lesson I thought this little clip may be of interest to anyone who is, or has worked on it. Here’s the link:

Ken:

Being left handed myself, I found it to be very helpful. When I was taking lessons, and sitting across from my instructor, it was like a mirror image, and it made learning some things much easier. Many people will talk about the learning curve in converting chord diagrams and other things into left handed versions, but I found it much easier to just leave everything alone and apply it as is. I guess we all have our own ways... :)

Very interesting find, thanks for sharing it...
