Just watched an interesting documentary called "Musicwood".
It is about a coalition made up of Bob Taylor, Chris Martin, Dave Berryman (Gibson), and GreenPeace. They attempt to convince SEAlaska, a logging company to employ more responsible and renewable practices. All of the sitka spruce used by these makers comes from this logging company, and at current rates of logging, there is a 5-10 year supply left.
Very well done. Really a microcosm of larger ecological challenges.
Interesting to think about the journey of the materials that make up the guitars we love so much.
