Neil- The tab nomenclature shows this song in double drop D tuning but I think the tab is actually in standard tuning. I was trying to play the song in double drop D and it sounded awful. I kept checking my tuner to make sure I in tune. When I tuned back to standard it sounded fine!

Hmm oft causes confusion Hey Hey My My (Into the Black) electric was standard, My My Hey Hey (Out of the blue) Acoustic was played dropped d or even DGCFAD

Sorry for the confusion. The guitar was not in Double Dropped D. All 6 strings were tuned down 1 whole step D G C F A D. Neil Young does this commonly for a couple of reasons- sing in a lower key, as well as a richer, deeper sound on the acoustic guitar.
