Anton- I don't know what the members of bto are up to. They did have some good hits though. Good to hear they made it out your way too!

Chris- I don't know how a bad performance would go over. Highschoolers aren't the most forgiving. Lets just assume it will go well. :)

Willem & Gaty- thanks for the encouragement.

Wow Al, how exciting for you. You're a good guitarist and you'll do great! Just curious, does the school teach guitar? Reason I ask is I inquired at my daughters public school district and was told in an email from the supervisor of music that classical guitar is not a part of the music curriculum. Like it couldn't be added?

Would like to see that on video, Good luck,

Jim
I asked my wife, and they do teach guitar as a music course. It's not just classical though. I assume it's all different kinds, theory, scales etc.

Hi Al, this is a great opportunity and I am sure you are ready for it. Your playing and singing confidence have skied rocket in the last 6 months and you have had great success here. I am sure you will do more than fine with the teenagers. You have covered many aspects of guitar, playing, singing, recording, making video which should captivate your audience. You could try to learn a BTO song before getting there in case one of the BTO guy would be there.

Looking forward to hear about your experience

Marc

Al, If you want you can show them my "mystery" collaborations ("Stand By Me", or "All My Loving"). And of course you should show them some of the "real" TG collaborations.

Al, This is just great. I know that, if I were you, I'd be nervous too. But it's an exciting opportunity for you and for the kids. And, as Marc said, your playing and singing as improved so much in the last 6 months that you REALLY have nothing to worry about. I hope you film it, and post it, because I'd love to see how it goes. I'm proud of you!!

Wow Al

Cracked that shell open and look out.......LOL. You will do just fine. One thing to keep in mind is that this is a "lunch" time thing and no one is being forced to be there. Theerefore the ones that show up are the ones that are interested. Im sooooooooo glad that you have accepted opportunity and when its over you will have something to check off your bucket list that I''ll bet you didn't even realize you had on there.

Great project, Al. You'll love it, I'm sure.

I'm not the specialist on teenagers, but I'm sure one of the magic words to use is:

RIFFS !!

Enjoy,
Pierre

Al - I have no doubt whatsoever that you'll be a hit. Whatever nervousness you have going in will probably dissipate a few seconds into your first song.

What songs are you planning to play?

Best of luck - can't wait to hear how it went.

Ah that's cool, Al! You'll be in like Flint with 'em...I teach High School kids.
Last year I brought in my acoustic one of the last days of school and we had a jam session.
(No I didn't sing) We had made some junk instruments and had a jam session. It was fun!

The kids like the classics like Floyd & Zeppelin. With any luck you'll find some six string bashers that you can call up front. I'm sure they won't upstage you like they did me. lo

Good Luck!
