I stumbled upon another gem from Julia (aka jaaaaaaa). Yeah, I’m on a 1st name basis with her – she just doesn’t know it. ;) I had never heard this song before, but Julia’s cover just touched me. I thought it was FANTASTIC, extremely heartfelt. So I just had to try to play it with her……

First Day of My Life (by Bright Eyes)

This is the first day of my life
Swear I was born right in the doorway
I went out in the rain
Suddenly everything changed
They're spreadin' blankets on the beach

Yours is the first face that I saw
I think I was blind before I met you
I don't know where I am
I don't know where I've been
But I know where I want to go
So I thought I'd let you know
Yeah these things take forever
I especially am slow
But I realized that I need you
And I wondered if I could come home

Remember the time you drove all night
Just to meet me in the morning
And I thought it was strange
You said everything changed
You felt as if you'd just woke up
And you said,
This is the first day of my life,
I’m glad I didn't die before I met you
But now I don't care I could go anywhere with you
And I'd probably be happy.

So if you wanna be with me
With these things there's no telling
We just have to wait and see
But I'd rather be working for a paycheck
Then waiting to win the lottery
Besides maybe this time it's different
I mean I really think you'll like me

Here’s Julia Nunes’ (aka jaaaaaaa) original cover video:

And here’s a video with the original music:

Awesome Daryl! You darn good! What great technique! You have a great knack for playing just the right amount at the right time. I'm impressed, BIGTIME!

Of the subject: But, thanks again for the advice on the tune I was working on (on the resolution issue) More logical and I think it works better now.

Great job, Darryl. I've seen Julia's vids before and she's got a really fun vibe- a joy to watch and hear. Did you hear back from her?

(stick with her over intense-Amy for sure!!)

Another Great collaboration Daryl! I'm really enjoying these. Your playing had an awesome balance of subtle enhancement and solid, steady base notes! Very well done. Thanks for sharing these with us.
