CLOSE HARMONY????can you tell!

howdy,,i still wonder what close harmony means,,i can imagine that notes are very near to each other but i wonder,,for an example i saw in the beatle song ''two of us'' that the harmonie(i mean the singin) are the same notes as in the chord,,,can we call that close harmony???? i can go wiki but i like to hear some thinkin or knowledge here on the forum,,,

Hi Willem,

Close harmony uses the closest available harmonizing notes -- i.e., within the same octave, whereas open harmony typically reaches outside the octave of the melody notes.
