Daryl, in another recent thread, you posted a video by Jeff Simmonds that was meant as a kind of coaching on songwriting.
http://www.totallyguitars.com/forum/81- ... ow-to.html

In that video, Jeff suggests that you "try to write a real crappy song", so ... you sure messed up on writing a crappy one, Daryl. :silly:

This "doodle" of yours is an example where conversational lyrics can either be taken lightly, or otherwise conjure up some more involved emotions. It is either a sunny reminiscence or a preparation for moving on to the next (shadowy ?) stage. And the shadow is more clearly implied in the outro ...

It's a great way of expanding on your really cool guitar playing, putting your feelers out there ...

Very glad to see this !

Pierre

Pierre - Thank you. I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner. My initial intention for the lyrics was to have two old friends get together after many years apart and compare notes on their lives. The lyrics morphed into a "farewell" visit from the long-ago friend. I'm glad you liked it. It was a good exercise/project for me.
