Al, I am very good on the Net for all kind of things but I had no interest in forums. I have check quite a few of them on all kind of subjects before but I always found people were yacking like a bunch of hysterical chickens trying to impress or to be as vulgar as possible. I really like what I see here.

That is sooooo true, Marc. I tried a couple of other guitar sites and they just weren't worth the headaches. The people on this site are the best. They are knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and fun-loving. Who could ask for more? :side:

I belong to 4 different forums counting this one. One gets contentious on occasion but by and large the members are mostly civil . I'm also a global mod on 1 board and it's the most boring job. Nobody ever does anything wrong. This place is very cool. I suppose it's because we all have a common goal, to be better guitarists.

Do I really need to explain my nickname? I'm 6'5" and about 350# That's a whole bunch of stones for you guys on the other side of the pond!

I've been called Bear for 40+ years. I like the name and it beats the ones my wife yells at me!! Most of those I can't list here!!

Ok Fozzie we can imagine, most of us Guitar geeks probably get called similar things by our Spouses

Fun thread, we reveal ourselves! I'm also actively taking part on a site for the first time. Never saw the point before. Here it's the common love of guitar, songs and learning, Neil's inspiring teaching and the great mix of characters spread across the globe that works for me. Neverfoundthetime is, of course, a song by America. Their great guitar sound just captivated me from the getgo. It's also a state of affairs that many here will identify with. I actually always take the time to do the things I love but I didn't take the time to get things "right" on the guitar as I'm self taught, so this is me findingthetimetogetitright at last.
Bear I got in one. Chasplaya I thought meant jazzplayer as in Switzerland Jazz is pronounced Tchass (and my ear has been corrupted). Catman and GuitarAl were clear too.
Does anyone know if a login name can be changed? Lav?

Chris, if you click on the Support Tab and make a request to change you login, I'm sure they can do it for you. I had to do that to change a password.

I've been online since before the internet was here, back when it was DARPA running a private network. I used to go by 'Droid' as it was my nickname for many years, but after a while I just decided it was easier to go by my name.
