Can we say homophone on TG? :-)
I think that word applies to people with a tendency to mistakenly dial their own cell number.

Hope all the explainations were'nt TOO much TO comprehend. I think the first TWO would have been enough, But don't forget the TUTU.

And here I thought Quark was the funny looking guy that owns the bar at DS9.

hey Willem. Don't sweat it on the English. You can be understood quite easily and there's no need to worry about little nuances.

It's a guitar site, not a grammar class.

This has been a fun thread though. I learned a new word in "Homophone".

But will you be brave to use it in public!

C'mon Tony as a former Staff officer you must have at some time or other red penned a subalterns work! I once had a phone call from a Wing Commander who got me on my feet at attention to 'brief' me about apostrophe use !! Not really on my feet - but boy did he give me my education. When it came my turn in my more senior years I never forgot that and only red penned when I had to in certain jobs.

As you say, and quite rightly, this is a Guitar sight/site and gramma/grammar shouldn't come into it. I think the interpretations give us that international flavour/flavor and colour/color which/witch make us unique.

I guess Elton John carries a homophone. I favour the iPhone myself. Does Apple make an iHomophone? They should.

Anyway, yes Chas I have had anally retentive bores preach to me about commas and the like. Being able to quote manuals and rules is a wonderful way to mask incompetence.

Tom, if that little experiment at CERN ever goes wrong and they do more than find the particle Mr. Higg's seems to have misplaced and accidentally create a black hole (opps!) then I'll be the first to know about it ... but don't expect me to get the news to you before the world ends! Anyway, we have complete trust in our scientist... don't we? ;-).

And there have been MUCH worse cases of piracy on TG in days gone by... as Bill, Chas, Bear, Andy and the rest of the crew will confirm. I was out with window-G.A.S. at the time and am completely blameless.

Willem, if you are stuck in a thesaurus looking for EGREGIOUS then you won't mind us borrowing your thread for some fun, will you? ;-)

Daryl, you TOO are TOO funny especially in that TUTU you borrowed from Frybaby.

Dennis... there's something about homophone alone flitting around in my head but it just won't quite connect .... ;-)

Chas & Tony: Since when did good grammar help anyone become a rock star?

and just for Chas and Tony...

Er, didn't meant to shout just now... just trying out font size. We have too small to read and a bit too big to be polite and way too big to use or way too small to use, apparently.

Everyone watch where you sit. I dropped a gluon around here somewhere.
