It was memorable to actually meet Tony, "The Green One" ... Marc, Tony and I practiced several tunes, but getting them presentable on video
would have taken more time than was available. Sit down guitar time was a bit over 4 hours ... and bla bla, let's all get acquainted ... :cheer:
Tony proposed this good down to earth strummer, "Fool for Love", so we did manage to get a usable video to share with youz folks.
We started out playing "Pretty Woman", for which Tony does a mean intro (bridge?).
Again, with some extra time, the coordination of guitars and voices would have been worth putting out there.
Then there was Ringo's (George's?) "It Don't Come Easy", to which I enjoy playing the riff.
Playing with others instills a healthy respect for musicians with the ability to consistently play riffs "on demand" ... I ain't there yet.
We jammed nicely on CCR's "Who'll Stop The Rain" ... maybe borderline ready for primetime (my friend Tony might disagree ).
A splendid time was had, fellowship and good food and drink. Marc and Tony are great company. Let's rewind and do it again !
Everyone must be out visiting friends.... I am the ONLY person on the forum at 23:11 CET!

Well another 'Visiting TG friends' in Holland has taken place, so I thought I'd fill you in about how that went.
This time it was the three of us getting together, Willem, Anton and Vanessa. The guys arrived at my (Vanessa) place at 11.30 after a, well at least, more than 2 hour drive, so of course we started out by chatting and having coffee. It was also a sudden warm day, lots of sunshine, well it adds to the mood!
However, we had picked a song each before getting together and added this dutch song to the list later. We started in no particular order, so 'Teach your children' was the first one (around 12.30). Well of course we needed to play this a couple of times through, since we obviously hadn't played it before. It took us a couple of takes and we previewed one but after one glimpse I realised that I was still wearing short trousers (it was warm) and it didn't look particularly charming (at least not from that angle, why does Brad look alright in those?? ) so nope, we went ahead with another take, thankfully the guys agreed on that, haha!
Anyway, ahead we went with Nights in White Satin (around 15.00?), wich is not really an easy song since it's so full with dynamics, I mean there is an orchestra in there, drums, a flutesolo and so on. Well we did our best to built in the crescendo's wich are particularly and obviously there in the chorus' and the flutesolo of the original song, so that was a challenge. However, of course it took us a couple of takes again, well we obviously settled for the one wich is uploaded.
Well after that, it was around 16.30/17.00 I think, Anton needed to get up at 04.00 for work and didn't want to leave too late since it would be a long drive for him again, so we decided to go for one more song. And since we áre from Holland, it was kinda obvious to go for the dutch song that we had planned to do.
'Het is een nacht' was a húge summerhit in 1995, just a fun and nice song to play and sing! Well Willem sang his heart out indeed, haha! :cheer:
So around 19.00 we were kinda done, tired but content! We had a relaxed dinner and Anton amused us with this song (after finishing dinner) wich I can't resist to upload here. It's a funny song and he réally knew how to bring it as well, I had no idea that he is súch a comedian, this is really hís thing!!
Anyway, all in all, we had indeed a blást! Also the way that we related (of course Willem and I had already met before) was just really easy going, fun, lots of laughing and just a good spirit all around, I personally can't ask for more! It was just great to get together, having the great honour to be the first after the New Englanders to sign the banner, and to record a couple of songs as well!
We just really hope that you have or will enjoyed/enjoy those!
