CKLW was my first radio station. Before anyone around here heard of FM. Funny though - Dick Purtan, shown at 2:11 in the video, is still on morning radio in Detroit. On WOMC oldies now. I've heard that guy's voice my entire life.

Welcome to the forum Mdunne.
Yep. Purtan's been on the air since radio was invented. When was that again? 1604? LOL He has been a fixture in the motor city for longer than I can remember. I did not know he was still on the air though but I'm not suprised.

I think my first was either:

1) Sugartime (McGuire Sisters)
2) Mister Sandman (The cordettes) early "circle of fifths" stuff, very cool.

I think I still have the 45's around here somewhere.

Memory is "content addressable". I found Transfusion (Nervous Norvus) right next to Ying Tong Song. Remember that one?

I like that. No idea what it means, but I'm gonna find out!

Anyway, feels like a good excuse to post this again, though I think it's available elsewhere on the site. Love Mary's attitude (as well as voice)

Also worth a nomination as "cover better than original" I think
