The question is what is your first musical memory where you heard something being played and took notice of what it was and most likely liked it?

Mine.
Riding in a 1973 Ford Maverick with my mother on her 40 mile commute listening to the AM radio and what you happened to turn it to. The song that got stuck in my head the most. Don McLean's American Pie.

Then what was sad in retrospect was in high school getting the same car as my first car. Still had the same AM radio in it. But it did a good twist on Queens Another One Bites the Dust. I crashed about 3 times listening to that.

I at one time had all the Sky albums, lost most of them when I came to NZ damn carriers. Absolute brilliant Tristan Fry, Tuba Smarties lol

Yep Sky bearing in mind I was like 8 years old when I heard them, and for some reason they sounded better than the smurfs..

Obviously I moved on to bigger and better things with stuff like Devo's Whip it,
and I hope I never from Split Enz..

Oh..then I discovered the Dark side of the moon, and it was all over..

I used to sing 'Top of the World' by the Carpenters for my mom/family as a toddler.
Still haven't forgiven my mom for that.

Listening to a transistor radio under my pillow at night I lived outside of Detroit and I used to listen to CKLW out of Windsor, Canada. It was about 1961-62. I was 5-6 yrs old. Chubby Checker, Frankie Vallie, Jan and Dean, early Beach Boys. and the Motown sound.;)
