Anyone played both: I've only played GH & loved it, but see Rock Band is becoming quite popular esp. now w/ the new Beatles version. Just curious how they stack up & is the guitar action on RB similar? Also I just read GH5 is coming out w/ a Kurt Cobain character!

I just saw The Beatles RockBand on TV today, it looks great, it was on ET with Ringo and Paul both stating very pleased with it and both said they are quite relaxed with people playing their music in this manner, even Yoko was on the show and she loved the idea. Apparently the concept came from George and Olivia Harrisons son, Dhani.

Very cool; bet it will be a big Santa's helper! Too bad Jimmy Page won't allow access to Zep stuff.

I can't play that game. It just messes me up.

I don't see the point why not learn a real guitar. One benefit is it gets younger people to hear good classics, especially now the Beatles one is out.

I tried to play it and I tried to make the chords instead of hitting the 'red' button... LOL It's better to learn a real guitar in my thinking.

After playing GH for a few months, one of my sons asked to play real guitar. We decided to take lessons together. This is how I got back to play guitar 1 1/2 year ago. my other son joined us 6 months after.

So I am really happy happy I bought this game. There is a benefit to this game toward real guitar as you have to follow the rhythm because just reading the incoming color will not get you anywhere.

I like GH because it's more electric guitar, which I can't play, but it's fun to be Eddie Van Halen or whoever for a while!
