I tried superglue. In the first few months of playing I would develop callouses and then lose big chunks. I tried superglue to fill in a couple of holes. It felt strange, but worked OK (once dried and filed down). However, it didn't last very long. So now I file off the rough bits (so they don't catch on anything and then rip out a chunk) and moisturise. I also play almost every day - I had to stop for a week when my guitar was being fixed. When I got it make I'd already lost some thickness in my callouses.

I guess this is "Horse Medicine":

I know of pro musicians that dab "crazy glue" on their fingertips to

so ... ask your guitar doctor if "crazy glue" is right for you :)
It is in fact true SRV's techs and roadies tell of him often reparing his callouses with superglue. The myth is where he used superglue and used it to rip skin off his arms to replace them, thihnk about that those who believe the myth how could he know which way it would rip! Superglue was originally a medical aid to assist in closing wounds before it was used as an adhesive.

I agree with Chas and Tovo, there is no magic, you just have to build thoses calluses, if you play often, the pain wil go away fairly quickly. It is when you stop for too long that you loose what you just gain. You can always play a song, have beer, play another song, have another beer....

Marc

tried this but kept becoming play a beer , have a nother song

(0k ok u can groan now)

When I say blisters, they were not on the surface, it was more like fluid under many layers os skin. ANd yes - if it hurts a lot let it heal.
