I was going to try this myself, but didn't get round to it (maybe next year). Couldn't have done much better than this though.

Have a great New Year everyone, and all the very best for 2010.

For those interested, the words are;

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and days o'auld lang syne?

CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my jo,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

And surely ye’ll be your pint-stowp!
and surely I’ll be mine!
And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS

We twa hae run about the braes,
and pu’d the gowans fine;
But we’ve wander’d mony a weary foot,
sin auld lang syne.

CHORUS

We twa hae paidl’d i' the burn,
frae morning sun till dine;
But seas between us braid hae roar’d
sin auld lang syne.

CHORUS

And there’s a hand, my trusty fiere!
and gie's a hand o’ thine!
And we’ll tak a right gude-willy waught,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS

And the chords are G Bm G C Am Bm D.

Happy New Year to you as well, Reiver.

With the song, one of the challenge is to look at the camera all the time like this guy.

And to you and everyone at TG, kiss the ladies and have a drink for me and all the best in 2010.

"Here's to you and here's to me,
Friends may we always be!
But, if by chance we disagree,
Up yours! Here's to me!"

:)

Reiver-

Great post! For those of us not lucky enough to have been born in Scotland here is a translation of the original Robert Burns song (although he didn't actually write it, he "collected" the lyrics from a very old song!):

Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and days of old lang syne ?

CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
And surely you’ll buy your pint cup !
and surely I’ll buy mine !
And we'll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS
We two have run about the slopes,
and picked the daisies fine ;
But we’ve wandered many a weary foot,
since auld lang syne.

CHORUS
We two have paddled in the stream,
from morning sun till dine† ;
But seas between us broad have roared
since auld lang syne.

CHORUS
And there’s a hand my trusty friend !
And give us a hand o’ thine !
And we’ll take a right good-will draught,
for auld lang syne.

Happy New Year to you all!!

At risk of sounding like an echo - Happy New Year to you all. May 2010 bring you all happiness, joy, wonder, good health, good times with loved ones and lots of time to play the guitar - basically all the good stuff. It's already 2010 for me - talk to you guys in your 2010. Michele

Great video BTW Stuart. I think I like it better than the standard. THanks

And from the great Pacific Northwest, where the forecast calls for lots of trees, a very happy new year to the nicest bunch of guys and gals anywhere.
