OK folks a new decade, on TV the other morning they had a discusion about what we actually call 2010

Is it:

Two Thousand and ten, or

Twenty Ten, or

What?

This sparked quite a debate as both descriptions have been used in the past and nobody could agree one way or the other.

So what do you think?

As a numbers guy (can't help the engineer in myself), I prefer Two Thousand and Ten. However, I am o.k. with whatever anybody else calls it. I just say it my way.....lol

This site tends to have Montypythonesque debates so whats wrong with this one lol. The tv show this was on actually got a bit heated on the topic, historians reminding us of other famouse dates in time etc

Was the American Declaration of Independance signed of on:

One thousand seven hundred and seventy six,
Seventeen seventysix,
seventeen hundred and seventy six or what?

The only reason I'm surprised is this was settled way back when Arthur C. Clarke published his book. It's alternate title was 'The revenge of Hal'.

And the Declaration was signed on Thursday.

According to the poster for the movie based on the novel by Arthur C. Clark 2010: The Year We Make Contact. I alwyas thought this referred to making contact with aliens. But after almost a year with you guys, and debating every weird and useless subject possible, I think it refers to making contact with reality!!

Follow up: Andy, you beat to this by a couple of minutes!! lol!
