I wouldn't call Crazy Heart depressing but if your looking for a comedy or an action flick then its not the movie for you. From what I read its based on the lives of Merle Haggard & Waylon Jennings, all who battled alcoholism and played in their share of honky tonks. The movie tells it how it is, and its almost scary how well Jeff Bridges plays the part. He does his own guitar playing and singing in the movie which shows how talented he really is. anyway check it out, you won't be dissapointed.

I will check it out, looks interesting. I like Mr. Bridges work.
I agree August Rush was a very good movie.
Dave Brubeck....Take Five.

Another great music movie "The Buddy Hollie Story" with Gary Bussie, I believe his best work. B)
